Renewing old connections!

I renewed my sasq membership today! SAQA stands for Studio Art Quilt Associates. Which is a nonprofit organization  whose mission is to promote the art quilt through education, exhibitions, professional development, documentation, and publications. SAQA defines an art quilt as "a creative visual work that is layered and stitched or that references this form of stitched layered structure."

Founded in 1989 by an initial group of 50 artists, SAQA now has over 3,000 members: artists, teachers, collectors, gallery owners, museum curators and corporate sponsors. A dedicated core of volunteers and staff keep the organization vibrant, dynamic, and progressive.

Exploring

Well this is the beginning of my blogging trek. Bare with me as I explore the ins and outs of the blogger life style. I'll be mostly discussing my art, with some kids pics mixed in. The picture above is a mixed media project. Its made with India ink, water colors and scrapping paper. pieces are cut out and layered together.
